We did not build Gym Star to sell throwaway workout clothes. We built it because ordinary gym wear lost its shape, broke down too fast, and never felt like it belonged in a serious training environment. Almost two decades later, that standard has not moved.
The Standard
Gym Star Apparel Canada was built on a standard that has never changed. We wanted the best gym gear we could find, and we wanted Canadian lifters to have access to that same level of quality without settling for generic activewear.
That is how Gym Star started in 2007. It came from a real frustration. Ordinary gym clothes were easy to find, but gear with the right fit, style, durability, identity, and training feel was not. We wanted apparel that looked like it belonged in the gym, held up under real use, and did not feel disposable after a few months.
That search led us to GASP and Better Bodies in 2008. Since then, those two brands have become the foundation of what Gym Star Apparel Canada is known for: premium gym clothing, serious lifter style, and gear selected for people who train with purpose.

Best is not a claim we hand ourselves. It is a standard we have to keep proving every time a box arrives, every time a friend orders, and every time a piece of gear goes through its second, third, or fifth year of hard training.
The Brands
Serious lifters do not fit clothing the way the average person does. Bigger shoulders, thicker arms, wider backs, smaller waists, deeper ranges of motion, and heavier training expose weak apparel quickly. A regular shirt can look fine on a hanger and still fail in the gym. Both of the brands we carry are designed around the body that trains.
Old-school bodybuilding culture, heavyweight construction, and fits made for athletic bodies. GASP speaks openly about testing its apparel with GASP athletes and the wider training community, and it shows in the way the gear wears, moves, layers, and washes.
The same training-first mindset, expressed through movement, fit, shape, and confidence. Better Bodies builds for the gym and for the street, with leggings designed to stay put through squats, sprints, and full sessions, and oversized pieces cut to stay relaxed without losing shape.
What Happens Before It Ships
We do not trust a logo and move product out the door. When new stock arrives, we go through it ourselves. This is the order we work in.
Weight, stretch, softness, structure, and finish. We handle the piece before we ever expect a friend to. If the fabric does not feel like what the brand is known for, we want to know why before it hits the shelf.
Stitching, seams, waistbands, drawstrings, hems, graphics, embroidery, and labels. Gym clothing gets sweated in, pulled on, squatted in, and washed constantly. Weak construction gets found out fast.
If a shirt runs differently than expected, we notice. If a tank fits tighter than the usual GASP pattern, if leggings feel more compressive, if a hoodie has more room, if a waistband sits differently, we log it and we tell you.
If we would not wear it, stand behind it, or recommend it to a serious lifter, it does not belong here. That is the last gate, and it is the one that matters most.
