Every application is reviewed by a person, not a follower-count filter. Here's the path from applying to your first week.

We review authenticity, activity, consistency, reach, community trust, and brand fit — typically within one to two weeks.

Applications & approval

Do I need a large following to apply?
No. Follower count is considered, but Gym Star also reviews authenticity, activity, consistency, reach, engagement, content quality, community trust, and overall fit.
Is approval automatic?
No. Every application is manually reviewed.
How long does the review take?
Applications are reviewed by a person, so timing can vary. Typically you can expect to hear back within one to two weeks.
Can a local coach or trainer apply?
Yes. A trusted local audience and useful fitness expertise can be highly relevant.
Do I need to be a competitive bodybuilder?
No. The program can include different training backgrounds, sports, ages, and content styles.
Do I have to own GASP or Better Bodies before applying?
Prior experience is helpful but not always required. You should still understand the brands and be prepared to learn product fits before making recommendations.
Why does Gym Star review my social media?
The public profile helps Gym Star assess authenticity, consistency, audience, communication, and brand fit.
Can I apply with a private account?
Gym Star needs enough access to evaluate the profile. A private account can make review difficult unless access is otherwise provided.
How is my offer determined?
Offers are individualized based on follower count, influence, reach, content, audience, overall value, and program fit.
Can two ambassadors receive different offers?
Yes. Offers are individualized and can differ.
Can I negotiate the offer?
You can raise a material question or provide relevant information, but Gym Star is not required to change the offer.
What happens when I accept?
Acceptance activates the ambassador relationship immediately. Complete setup and begin promoting responsibly.
Can I decline?
Yes. The applicant can accept or decline the offer.

Shopify Collabs & accounts

Why am I being redirected to Shopify?
Gym Star uses Shopify Collabs to manage applications, offers, links, codes, tracking, analytics, commissions, and payouts.
Is my ambassador relationship with Shopify?
No. Your program relationship is with Gym Star. Shopify provides the operating platform.
Can I create a Collabs account without an invitation or application?
Shopify currently says general new creator signups are closed. Accounts can be created through a direct brand invitation or an approved brand application.
Which email should I use?
Use the same email for Shopify Collabs and GymStar.ca.
Can I change my email later?
Yes, but update Shopify and contact Gym Star so the store account and Ambassador Discount relationship can be reviewed.
Should I install the Collabs app?
It's optional but useful for performance, commissions, settings, and notifications.
Which social accounts can I connect?
Shopify currently supports Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in creator setup.
Why won't my Facebook profile connect?
Shopify requires a Facebook Page rather than a personal Facebook profile.
Why is Instagram connecting the wrong account?
Log out of Instagram in the browser, confirm the correct account, clear cache or use a private window, and reconnect.
Should I bookmark Collabs?
Yes. Don't rely only on the original offer email.
What is Active Collabs?
It's the area where your active brand relationships and offer details can be reviewed.
Can Gym Star see my password or payout credentials?
No. Never send passwords, verification codes, or private payout credentials to Gym Star.

Ambassador Discount

What is the Ambassador Discount?
It's your exclusive personal shopping benefit while you remain an active ambassador.
What percentage is it?
The percentage is not publicly disclosed and may change due to importing costs, economic conditions, cost of goods, and program needs.
How is it applied?
It's associated with the GymStar.ca account using the same email as Shopify Collabs.
Can I share it with a friend?
No. Share your Referral Code or Referral Link instead.
Can I use it on sale items?
The Ambassador Discount does not stack with sale pricing, promotions, coupon codes, or other discounts.
What can stack with it?
Only Gym Star Rewards Points, subject to the current Rewards and store rules.
Can I combine my Ambassador Discount with my Referral Code?
No.
What if a public sale is better?
Use the best valid purchase option available under the current store rules.
Why isn't the discount showing?
Confirm you're logged in with the Collabs email. If it still doesn't appear, contact Gym Star before completing the order.
Can I place orders for other people through my account?
No. The personal ambassador benefit is not intended for third-party purchasing or sharing.

Referral codes

What is a Referral Code?
It's the personalized public code you share with friends and followers. It can provide the configured offer and attribute qualifying sales.
Why should I avoid numbers?
A number such as 10, 15, or 20 can be mistaken for a guaranteed discount percentage even when the offer changes.
What should my code look like?
Use a short name, nickname, coaching identity, or personal brand, such as JUSTIN or TRAINWITHJESS.
Can I change my code?
Changes may be possible, but check with Gym Star before promoting a new code because old materials may stop working.
Is the code case-sensitive?
Use the exact uppercase spelling shown in Collabs to reduce mistakes, regardless of how checkout processes case.
Can I promise the code is always 15%?
No. Don't promise a fixed percentage unless Gym Star confirms it for the current offer.
What if the code gives a worse offer than a public sale?
Tell the friend to use the public offer and enter through your Referral Link.
Can Gym Star add my code after the order is placed?
Don't promise retroactive code application or commission. Contact support only when there's a documented system issue.
Why does the code not work on an item?
The item, collection, promotion, or order may not qualify under the current program settings.
Can I post my code in unrelated comments and groups?
No. Avoid spam and follow each platform or group's rules.

What is a Referral Link?
It's your unique Shopify Collabs tracking URL for Gym Star.
Why is the link preferred?
It directs friends to the store, can record visits, reduces mistyped codes, and remains useful during public sales.
Can I share a product-specific link?
Where Collabs provides the option, yes. Test it before posting.
Can I shorten the link?
Only use a shortener after testing that it preserves tracking. The safest option is the link copied directly from Collabs.
Can I edit the tracking parameters?
No. Copy the full link directly from Collabs.
Should I use the link during a sale?
Yes. Share the link and let the friend use the best valid public offer.
Can I make a QR code from the link?
Yes, using a reputable tool. Test it and include a commission disclosure nearby.
Why is a sale not showing immediately in Collabs?
Allow reasonable reporting time and check whether the link or code was used before escalating.
Will every person who saw my post be tracked?
No. Collabs tracks qualifying referral activity under its system rules; not every form of influence will be attributed.
Can I see exactly what every friend browsed?
Don't assume or claim that. Use only the performance information Collabs actually displays.

Content & posting

How often must I post?
There's no formal posting quota. Post regularly enough that the relationship remains active and authentic.
Do I need to tag Gym Star every time?
No, but occasional relevant tags of @gymstarapparel help Gym Star see and engage with the content.
Can every post be a discount post?
That's not recommended. Education, fit, training, community, and product-use content builds stronger trust.
Do I have to use a script?
No. Use your own voice while remaining accurate and compliant.
Can I say I work for Gym Star?
No, unless Gym Star has separately employed you. An ambassador is not automatically an employee or official spokesperson.
Can I answer return or shipping questions?
You can direct friends to the current policy, but don't promise outcomes. Send specific issues to sales@gymstar.ca.
Can I use product photos from GymStar.ca?
Use them only under applicable permission and platform rules. Original content is preferred.
Can I alter product colours with filters?
Avoid filters that materially misrepresent the actual product colour.
Can I criticize a product?
Honest, constructive experience is acceptable. Be fair, specific, and give Gym Star an opportunity to address a defect or support issue.
Can I promote competing apparel brands?
The individual offer may contain expectations. Avoid content that creates confusion or undermines the Gym Star relationship, and ask if uncertain.
Can I make health or performance claims?
Don't claim apparel causes medical, fat-loss, muscle-building, or injury-prevention outcomes.
What disclosure should I use?
A strong default: "I'm a Gym Star Ambassador and may earn commission from qualifying purchases through my Referral Link or Referral Code."
Is tagging @gymstarapparel enough disclosure?
No. Canadian guidance says a tag, discount code, or affiliate link alone is unlikely to be enough.
Do Stories need disclosure?
Yes. Put clear, readable disclosure on the Story itself.

Commissions & payouts

Where do I see my commission rate?
Review the offer and Active Collabs area in your account.
When is commission earned?
Commission can be attributed to qualifying purchases made through tracked links or codes, subject to holding, refund, dispute, and payout terms.
Why is commission pending or on hold?
The order is still within validation and the merchant's holding period.
What happens if the order is refunded?
Canceled or fully refunded orders can have commission canceled during the holding period.
What is a disputed commission?
The merchant has challenged the pending commission. Review the details and respond promptly.
How do I get paid?
Activate automatic payouts through Collabs and complete the Hyperwallet process.
How often are automatic payouts?
Shopify currently states twice per month once the Next payout balance reaches at least USD $25, subject to current platform terms.
Why am I being paid in USD?
Shopify currently handles automatic payouts in USD. Other payout currencies can involve conversion fees.
What if a payout fails?
Open the payout record for the stated error, correct the payment or verification issue, and contact Shopify or Hyperwallet if required.
Does Gym Star provide tax advice?
No. Keep records and consult a qualified Canadian tax professional.
Can commission amounts change after appearing?
Yes. Returns, cancellations, refunds, disputes, and adjustments can change the amount.
Why is my payout below what I expected?
Compare the order status, holding period, refunded orders, payout threshold, currency conversion, and commission status.

Who handles a friend's order problem?
Gym Star support at sales@gymstar.ca or 888-720-4977.
Who handles a Shopify login problem?
Use Shopify account support and the official recovery process.
Who handles a Hyperwallet verification issue?
Use the payout or Hyperwallet support path shown in Collabs.
What should I include when contacting Gym Star?
Your name, Collabs email, a concise description of the issue, screenshots, an order number if relevant, and the steps you've already attempted.
Can my ambassador status become inactive?
Yes. Benefits and access apply while active and can change or end under program terms.
Is there a minimum sales requirement?
No universal minimum is set. Active status is reviewed based on overall participation and alignment.
What if I need a break from posting?
Communicate with Gym Star rather than disappearing for an extended period.
What happens to links and codes if the relationship ends?
They can be deactivated, and future commission can no longer be earned through them.
Can I continue calling myself an ambassador after access ends?
No. Remove or update public claims when the active relationship ends.
Where should I look first when something fails?
Identify whether the issue is with GymStar.ca, Shopify Collabs, a social platform, or Hyperwallet; note the exact error; retry in a current browser or private window. If it persists, contact the appropriate Gym Star, Shopify, or Hyperwallet support channel.
